At the rear of the main field approximately half an acre has been set aside as a wild life area. This area, awarded a commendation from Lincolnshire Wild Life Trust, is a peaceful area for villagers and visitors to sit and watch and listen to the bird song and insect life which abounds there.
Villagers have stocked the pond with fish and although the weed is a problem, many anglers young and old enjoy a peaceful couple of hours fishing. Fishing is at present free to villagers, but adults must have a fishing licence. A children's fishing club is held on alternate Saturday mornings (except over winter).
A walkway is maintained around the pond with the edges and verges allowed to develop naturally. Throughout the summer wild flowers grow and bloom giving an ever changing vista, a pair of orchids have shown on occasions, and many villagers enjoy blackberry picking in the autumn.
